The Bakery World Cup took place in Paris on Tuesday 14 January. France 2 makes you discover the latest training sessions of the French team made up of very creative and demanding candidates.
Valentin Levrard is a teacher whose orders are not discussed. Le Normand is one of three members of the French team who took part in the Bakery World Cup in Paris in mid-January. Between two training sessions, he teaches in a hotel school in Caen (Calvados). His partner, Damien Dedun, had to produce ten different pastries for the competition. Valentin took care of the bread.
Six months of training
“I try to explore techniques that can be taken from pastries, it really allows me to have fun on the whole bread part”, explains Valentin Levrard. The pieces were imagined around the music, the theme of the competition. For six months, they have been devoting all their free time to training, weekends and holidays included. Adjust the smallest detail, find the ideal recipe to be ready for the big day. Twelve teams came from all over the world.
