The first Charente-Maritime basin is affected by this ban. Samples were taken in December. Impossible for him to market these oysters, about ten tons in total. But he can still sell a lot from the sea. “These are marketable oysters after being sorted“, he confides. According to some experts, the oysters could have been contaminated by fecal matter from runoff water from treatment plants.
